\bold{Explanation:}

Given :

Diameter of circle=12cm

sector angle is 120°

To Find :

Area of sector

We know that Diameter is twice of radius or radius is half of Diameter.

So ,radius = D/2=12/2=6cm

Area of sector = \sf\dfrac{ \theta}{360^{\circ}}  \times \pi {r}^{2}

 \sf=  >  \dfrac{120}{360}  \times  \dfrac{22}{7}   \times 6 \times 6

 \sf=  >  \dfrac{1}{3}  \times  \dfrac{22}{7}  \times 6 \times 6

 \sf=  >  \dfrac{22 \times 2 \times 6}{7}

 \sf = >  \dfrac{264}{7}

 \sf\:Area = 37.71 {cm}^{2}

\thereforeArea of sector is  \sf\:37.71 {cm}^{2}
