since , side of square = 16m 8cm

we know that,

1 m = 100cm

=> 16m = 16 × 100cm = 1600cm

so, side in cm = 1600cm + 8cm = 1608cm

\therefore area of square

= {(side)}^{2}

= {(1608)}^{2}

= 1608 × 1608

= 2585664 cm²

if 1 cm = \frac{1}{100} m

then, 1 cm² = \frac{1}{10000}

thus , area in sq. metre ,

= \frac{2585664}{10000}

= 258.5664 m²
