by taking pythagors theorm
hypotaneus is 72 cm and all sides are equal in square
so
x^2+x^2=72^2
2x^2= 5184
x^2 = 5184/2
=2592
x=√2592
= 50.9 nearly
area= side* side
= 50.9*50.9
= 2590.81 cm square

NeelamG: i find its perimeter its area is side* side
NeelamG: its area is 50.9*50.9

Let the sides be 'x'cm
Given
Diagonal = 72cm
Using Pyrhogoras Theorem
Side^2 + side^2=diagobal^2
x^2 + x^2=72^2
2x^2=5184
x^2=5184/2
x^2=2592
x=√2592
x=51 approximately

Area = x^2=51^2
= 2601 sq.cm
