The area of square is 2592 cm².

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of square is

A=\frac{1}{2}d^2

where, d is the length of the diagonal.

It is given that length of diagonal is 72 cm.

Substitute d=72 in the above formula.

A=\frac{1}{2}(72)^2

A=\frac{1}{2}(5184)

A=2592

Therefore, the area of square is 2592 cm².
