SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

The area of a square length of whose diagonal is 25cm

EVALUATION

Let the length of the square = a cm

Then length of the diagonal = a√2 cm

So by the given condition

 \displaystyle \sf{a \sqrt{2}  = 25}

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \: a  =  \frac{25}{ \sqrt{2} } }

Hence the required area of the square

 \displaystyle \sf{=   {a}^{2}  \:  \: {cm}^{2} }

 \displaystyle \sf{=   { \bigg( \frac{25}{ \sqrt{2} }  \bigg)}^{2}  \:  \: {cm}^{2} }

 \displaystyle \sf{=   \frac{625}{2}  \:  \: {cm}^{2} }

 \displaystyle \sf{=  312.5  \:  \: {cm}^{2} }
