find the area of a square which can be inscribed in a circle of radius 8 cm

Given radius = 8cm.

Then the diameter of a square = diagonal = 2 * 8

                                                                       = 16cm.

Let the side of the square = xcm.

By Pythagoras theorem, we get

x^2 + x^2 = 16^2

2x^2 = 256

x^2 = 128cm^2.


Therefore the area of the square = 128cm^2.
