Answer:

We know that diagonal of square are equal

therefore  

d1 = d2 = 5 root 2 cm

area of square =  

1/2 × d1 × d2

1/2 × (5 root2)^2

1/2 × 50  

25 cm ^2

diagonal of square= √2 a

so,

5√ 2 = √2 a

a = 5

area of square

 =  {a}^{2}

= 5 ^ 2 = 25 m
