⇒ 850 = 1/2 × (64 + x) × 17
⇒ 850 × 2 = 17 × (64 + x)
⇒ 1700 = 1088 + 17x
⇒ 17x = 1700 - 1088
⇒ 17x = 612
⇒ x = 612/17
⇒ x = 36
Hence, the length of the parallel side is 36 cm
