The formula for area of a triangle when points (x_{1} ,y_{1} ),(x_{2} ,y_{2} ),(x_{3} ,y_{3} )  are given,

\frac{1}{2} [x_{1} (y_{2}-y_{3}  )+x_{2} (y_{3}-y_{1}  )+x_{3} (y_{1}-y_{2}  )]

Applying it here,

\frac{1}{2}  [3(7+4  )+4 (-4-2  )+7 (2-7  )]=\frac{1}{2}[33-24-35]=-13

but area can't be negative so area=13 sq units
