let x be the another side.
      13+14+x=42
                  x=42-27
                  x=15cm
By applying herons formula
                       s=a+b+c/2
                       s=13+14+15/2
                       s=42/2
                       s=21
area of triangle=√s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)
                        =√21(21-13)(21-14)(21-15)
                        =√21*8*7*6
area of triangle=84cm².

Area of triangle = 84cm²

Explanation:

Perimeter of a triangle is given by sum of 3 sides of the triangle.

given, perimeter = 42cm

the two sides of triangle are 13cm and 14cm

let the third side = x

x + 13 + 14 = 42

x = 42 - 27

Third side(x) = 15

By applying herons formula

                      s = (a+b+c)/2

                      s = (13+14+15)/2

                      s = 42/2

                      s = 21

Area of triangle = √s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

                          = √21(21-13)(21-14)(21-15)

                          = √21×8×7×6

Area of triangle=84cm²
