Area of an equilateral triangle is given by \dfrac{\sqrt{3}}{4} a^2 unit sq

where a is the length of the sides of the triangle.

In this case, the area is
 \dfrac{\sqrt{3}}{4} \times 4^2
= \sqrt{3} \times 4
=4\sqrt3 cm^2

That is your answer.
