let us draw an altitude from any vertex,
length of altitude = √[(a)²-(a/2)²]
⇒5√3 =√3 a/2
⇒a = 10 cm
so, area = √3 a²/4
=√3×(10)²/4
= 25√3 cm²
length of altitude = √[(a)²-(a/2)²]
