Let a,b,c are the sides of the triangle.

Then a = b = c = 2a

We know

S = (a+b+c)/2 = (2a + 2a + 2a)/2 = 6a/2 = 3a

Area = √(s*(s-a)*(s-b)*(s-c)) = √(3a*(3a-2a)*(3a-2a)*(3a-2a))

= √(3a*a*a*a) √(3a⁴) = √3 a²

Answer: √3 a^2 sq. units

Step-by-step explanation: Find the height of the triangle using Pythagoras theorem, and use that to find the area of the triangle. (refer to attached image)
