Find the area of an isosceles right triangle , if one of its right side is 18 cm long

Given,

It's a right angles triangle

where AB = 18 cm

AB = BC ( as they r isosceles triangle, two sides are equal)

So AB = BC = 18cm

AB = height of the triangle

BC = Base of the triangle

We know,

Area of a right angled triangle = ½ bh

 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times b \times h \\  \\  =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 18 \times 18 \\  \\  = 9 \times 18 \\  \\  = 162

Hence the area of the isosceles right angled triangle is 162 cm²
