Hence According to Pythagoras Theorem,

Opposite Side² + Adjacent Side² = Hypotenuse²

Since both are equal we can assume the opposite and adjacent sides to be x. Hence we get,

⇒ x² + x² = 18²

⇒ 2x² = 18²

⇒ x² = 18² / 2 = 324 / 2 = 162

⇒ x = √ 162 = 9√2

Hence Opposite and Adjacent sides are 9√2 cm.

Now Area of Triangle is 1/2 × base × height

⇒ 1/2 × opposite side × adjacent side

⇒ Area = 1/2 × 9√2 × 9√2

⇒ Area = 1/2 × 162 = 81

Hence the area of the given triangle is 81 cm².
