find the area of an isosceles triangle each of whose equal side is 13 cm and base 24 cm

Using herons formula. We can write,

S=a+b+c/2

= 13+13+24/2

=50/2=25

Root(25×(25-13)(25-13)(25-24)

=root(5square×12×12×1)

=root(5square×12square)

=5×12=60

Therefore, 60 cm square is the area.
