Find the area of an isosceles triangle having base x cm and equal side y cm

since altitude of an isosceles triangles bisects the base.
hence
half of base = x/2
hypotenuse = y
now use Pythagoras Theo to find height of triangle.
Finally use Area of triangle = 1/2 base x height.
