Find the area of an isosceles triangle, the measuring of one of its equal side is 'a' and the third side is 'b'. Experts answer fast!

Ok, herons formula states half the perimeter will be s, and  it states A=\sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}.

Here we can see that both sides a and b (in the heron equation) are same. therefore a=b and b=a. Note:the b you gave is not the one in the heron formula.

therefore if you do the factoring and all that u'll get an answer.

A=\sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)} \\ \A=\sqrt{s[s(2a)(s-c)}

Ans:\A=\sqrt{s[sa^2(s-c)}
