therefore BD = CD

AB^=BD^ + AD^

(5cm)^=BD^+ (4cm)^

25cm^=BD^+16cm^

9cm^= BD^

3cm = BD

BC = 2BD = 6cm

Area or triangle ABC =1/2 Base ×hieght

= 1/2 × 6cm × 4cm

= 12cm^
