\Large{\textbf{\underline{\underline{According\;to\;the\;Question}}}}

Given,

Two Equal Sides = 5cm

Also,

Third Side = 8cm

So,

Semi-Perimeter

= (a + b + c)/2

= (5 + 5 + 8)/2

= (10 + 8)/2

= 18/2

= 9

\rule{300}{1.5}

Now,

Area of ∆ = √s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)

Area of ∆ = √9(9 - 5)(9 - 5)(9 - 8)

Area of ∆ = √9(4)(4)(1)

Area of ∆ = √144

Hence,

Area of ∆ = 12 cm²
