Find the area of an isosceles triangle with perimeter 36cm and base 16cm

hi ,
given,
p = 36 cm
b = 16 cm ,
the two sides of isosceles traingle is equal so ,
p - b = two sides
36 - 16 = 20 cm

one side = 20 ÷ 2 = 10 cm
and then put the formula .

Perimeter = 36 cm
Base = 16 cm
Sum of equal sides = 36 - 16 = 20 cm
Length of one equal side = 20/2 = 10 cm
Height = {(10)^2 - (8)^2}^1/2
= (100 - 64)^1/2
= (36)1/2
= 6 cm
Now,
Area of the triangle = 1/2(base*height)
= 1/2*6*16 = 48 sq.cm Ans
