side = 5 cm

base = third side = 8 cm.  so, base/2 = 4.

putting values in formula,

Area = \frac{1}{2} *8*\sqrt{5^2-4^2}

        = 4*\sqrt{25-16}

        = 4*\sqrt{9}

        = 4*3

        = 12
