i.e. ar∆APB = ar∆ABC - ar∆BPC (1)

We know that area of triangle is 1/2 × base × height
since, in ABC
base = AB = 4cm
height = h = 7cm
so,
ar∆ABC
From (1)
ar∆APB = 14 - 9 = 5 cm²
Therefore, the area of triangle APB is 5cm².
