cylinder is having a circular base
so, area is πr^2
area = 22/7 * 7 * 7
= 22 * 7
= 154 cm^2

Base of a Cylinder is Circular in shape !

So area of base of a Cylinder = πr²

Here r = 7 cm

and \:  take  \: π  \: as \:  \frac{22}{7}  \\  \\ area = \pi \times  {7}^{2}  =  \frac{22}{7}  \times 7 \times 7 = 22 \times 7 = 154 \: cm {}^{2}
Area of Base of the cylinder is 154 cm²
