Let AC=13cm,AB=5cm & BC be the unknown side

Angle B = 90°

By Pythagoras Theorem,

Ac^2=AB^2+BC^2

BC^2=AC^2-AB^2

BC^2=13^2-5^2

BC=√144 cm

BC=12cm

We know that the area of triangle = 1/2 X base X height

Here,

Base=12cm

Height=5cm

Area of ∆ABC = (1/2 X 12 X 5)cm^2

Area of ∆ABC =30 cm^2
