if you are not comfortable with the method I used then try making a perpendicular and then by using pythagoras theorm find the length of the perpendicular
after having the dimensions of both side and perpendicular use the area formula i.e., b×h/2

Area of equilateral triangle=root3a^2/4
Perimeter =3a
180=3a
a=60
Area={root3 x (60)^2}/4
=root3 x 3600/4
=root3 x 900
=900 root3
