Answer:

i) Area of triangle QPR : 1/2 × b × h

1/2 × 25 × 10 = 125 cm^2 --------(1)

Area of triangle ABP : 1/2 × b × h

1/2 × 20 × 25 = 250 cm^2 -----(2)

Area of triangle PDC : 1/2 bh

1/2 × 20 × 25 = 250 cm^2 --------(3)

Ans = 125+250+250 = 625cm^2

(ii) Area of a rectangle = L x b sq.units

In rectangle ABCD

L = 50

B = 20

Area = 1000 cm^2

Area of first 3 triangles = 125cm^2 , 250 cm^2 and 250 cm^2

By intersecting B and C and drawing a perpendicular line we get a point.

Let us name it as S

Area of other two triangles =

BPS and CPS

AP = BS = CS = 25cm^2

PS = 20cm^2

Area = 1/2 ×25 × 20 = 250cm^2

Answer = 125+250+250+250+250= 1125cm^2

Hope it helps :)
