Answer:

 {3}^{2} + {x}^{2} = {5 }^{2} \\ 9 + {x}^{2} = 25 \\ {x}^{2} = 25 - 9 \\ {x}^{2} = 16 \\ x = 4 \\ area = l \times b \\ 5 \times 7 = 35

Answer:

47 units^2

Step-by-step explanation:

∵ THE TRIANGLES ARE RIGHT ANGLED TRIANGLES

                       ∴ BY PYTHAGORAS THEOREM,

                              5^2 = 3^2 + BASE^2

                          ⇒ BASE = 4 units

AREA OF 2 TRIANGLES (BOTH HAVE THE SAME DIMENSIONS) = 2*1/2*H*B

                                                                                                            = 3*4

                                                                                                            = 12 unit^2

AREA OF RECTANGLE = L*B

                                      = 5*(3+4)

                                      = 5*7

                                      = 35 units^2

AREA OF FIGURE = 35 + 12 = 47 units^2

                                                  THANK YOU.
