area \: of \: figure \: is \: given \: by  = \:  \\ area \: of \: rectangle \:  + area \: of \: 2 \\  \: triangle

Area of 2 ∆ =

 \frac{1}{2} \times 2 \:  \times b \times h

So , we have to find base

By PGT,

b \:  =  \sqrt{ {h}^{2}  -  {p}^{2}  }

b \:  =  \:  \sqrt{25 - 9}  \\ b =  \sqrt{16}  \\ b = 4 \: cm

Area of 2 triangle = b × h

= 4×3

= 12 cm²

Area of rectangle = l × b

= 5 × 7

= 35 cm²

Area of figure = 35 cm² + 12 cm²

= 47 cm²
