Answer: (3√7/4 + √3) cm².

Explanation:

ar(ABCD) = ar(∆ABD) + ar(∆BCD)

=> Area = (√3)/4 × 2 × 2 + [3/2√(2)² - (3)²/4]

[Area of an equilateral triangle = (√3)/4 × s² & Area of an isoscles triangle = b/2(√a² - b²/4).]

=> Area = √3 + 3/2(√4 - 9/4)

=> Area = √3 + 3/2[√(16 - 9)/4]

=> Area = 3/2(1/2√7) + √3

=> Area = (¾√7 + √3) cm².

ALITER: You can also use the Heron's formula to find the area.

∆ = √[s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)]

where, s = (a + b + c)/2.
