Given :

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • ABCD is a parallelogram

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Area of shaded part 12cm square

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

To Find :

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Area of parallelogram ABCD

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Solution :

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

 \bf △AEB =  \frac{1}{2}  \times base \times height

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

 \bf \implies {12cm}^{2}  =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 3cm \times h

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

 \bf \implies12 =  \frac{3}{2}  \times h

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

 \bf \implies h = 12 \times  \frac{2}{3}

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

 \bf \implies h = 4  \times 2

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

 \bf \implies h = 8

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Area of ||gm ABCD = Base × Altitude

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Base = 3cm + 9cm = 12cm

Height = 8cm

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

 \bf \implies12cm \times 8cm

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

 \bf \implies {96cm}^{2}

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Therefore, Area of parallelogram ABCD = 96cm square.
