now look-kite's diagonals bisect each other. which means in any  diagonal of a kite, the lenght of the diagonal from the intesection(where they meet) to one of the end is equal

so we consider the triangle which is in the kite whose base is 5.5 cm and the height of the triangle is 5cm.(10 cm. the diagonal(5.5)bisects the 10cm diagonal so 10/2=5)

so there are 2 triangles which have the same dimentions as said above

Area of triangle whose height and base is given=1/2*base*height

1/2*5.5*5

=27.5/2

=13.75cm square

that is the area of 1 triangle.

the area of 2 triangles or when put together, kite is

13.75*2

=27.5cm square
