Given : Base radius of cone, r = 7 cm

Height of cone, h = 24 cm

Slant height of cone, l = √r² + h²

l = √(24² +7² )

l = √625

l = 25 cm

Area of metal sheet required = Total surface area of cone (T.S.A)

[Metal sheet is closed]

T.S.A of cone = πr(l + r)

T.S.A of cone = 22/7 × 7 (25 + 7)

T.S.A of cone = 22 × 32

T.S.A of cone = 704 cm²

Hence,  Area of metal sheet required is 704 cm²

Given :

  • r = 7 cm

  • h = 24 cm

By pythagoras therome

l = √r² + h²

l = √(24² +7² )

l = √625

l = 25 cm

Now,

Area of metal sheet required = Total surface area of cone

T.S.A of cone = πr(l + r)

T.S.A of cone = 22/7 × 7 (25 + 7)

T.S.A of cone = 22 × 32

T.S.A of cone = 704 cm²
