the pavement is outside of the pool so we have to subtract the width 2 times with its length and breadth.

length of the pool=12-(0.75+0.75)

=12-1.5

=10.5m

breadth of the pool=8-(0.75+0.75)

=8-1.5

=6.5m

area of the pool=l×b

=10.5×6.5

=68.25m²

area along with the pavement=l×b

=12×8

=96m²

therefore area of the pavement=96-68.25

=27.75m²
