Solution

The given polygon can be divided into 3 parts , 2 triangles and a rectangle.

Consider the Rectangle FBCE

  • Length of the rectangle (FE) = 50 cm
  • Breath of rectangle (FB) = 30 cm

Now,

 \fbox{ \sf{{ \red{area  \: of  \: rectangle= Length× breath}}}}

 \sf{ \to \: Area  \: of  \: rectangle= 50×30}  \\ \sf{ \to \: Area  \: of  \: rectangle= \green{1500 cm²}}

Now, consider the triangle ∆DCE

  • Height= 10 cm
  • base = 30 cm

 \boxed{ \sf{ \color{grey}area  \: of  \: triangle = \frac{1}{2} ×base \: ×height}}

  \:  \: \sf{ \to \: area \:  of \:  triangle=  \frac{1}{2} × 30×15} \\   \sf{ \to \: area  \: of  \: triangle=  \green{ 150 cm²}}

Similarly the ∆ AFB have same base and height as ∆DCE.

so area of ∆ABF is 150cm²

→area of polygon= (150+150 +1500)cm²

area of polygon=1800 cm²

So the area of the given polygon is 1800 cm².
