In ΔBCD,

And
In ΔABD,
By Pythagoras theorem :-
- (AD)² = (AB)² + (BD)²
» (17)² = (AB)² + (15)²
» AB = √289 - 225
» AB = √64
- » AB = 8 cm

Area of ΔABD =
» 1/2 × 8 × 15
» 4 × 15
- » 60 cm²
Now,
- Area of quadrilateral ABCD = Area of ΔABD + Area of ΔBCD
