in triangle ABD
1/2 × base × height
1/2 × 24 × 5
=60
in triangle BCD
1/2 × base × height
1/2 × 24× 8
=96
adding both areas
=60+96
=156

in triangle ABD

1/2 × base × height

1/2 × 24 × 5

=60

in triangle BCD

1/2 × base × height
