Solution

Given :-

  • Length of rectangle = 12 cm
  • Diagonal of rectangle = 37 cm

Find :-

  • Area of rectangle

Explanation

Let,

ABCD be a rectangle ,

Where,

  • AB = CD = 12 cm

Let,

  • BC = DA = x cm

  • BD = 37 cm

Take BCD,

Using Pythagoras Theorem

➡ BD² = BC² + CD²

➡37² = x² + 12²

➡x² = 37² - 12²

➡x² = 1369 - 144

➡x² = 1225

➡x = √1225

➡x = 35 cm

Since,

  • Breadth of rectangle be BC = DA = 35 cm

Now, Calculate Area of rectangle

Formula

Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

So,

➡ Area of rectangle = 35 × 12

➡ Area of rectangle = 420 cm²

Hence

  • Area of rectangle will be = 420 cm²
