Answer:

let the height be x

Area of 2nd rectangle =30 cm sq.

but area of a rectangle =2(l+b)

=>2(l+b)=30

=>2(6+x)=30

=>12+2x=30

=>2x=30-12

=>2x=18

x=18/2

=>x=9

therefore if height of the 2nd rec. is 9 cm , the height of the rec 1st is also equal to 9cm

therefore area of the 1st rec.=2(l+b)

=2(9+8)

=2(17)

=34

therefore the area of 1st rec. is 34 cm sq.

Answer:

40 cm^2

let a rectangle have length 8 cm.

let another rectangle have length 6 cm and area 30cm^2

AREA OF RECTANGLE =(LENGTH) (BREATH)

30=(6) (BREATH)

BREATH=30/6=5cm

therefore acc to the question ,

the BREATH OF THE PREVIOUS RECTANGLE = 5cm

AREA OF PREVIOUS = (8) (5)

RECTANGLE

therefore,

AREA OF RECTANGLE = 40 cm
