Solution:

We know that area of Rhombus is given by

 \frac{1}{2}  \times d1 \times d2 \\  \\
here d1 and d2 are the diagonal of rhombus.

Given that
d1 = 8 \: cm \\  \\ d2 = 10 \:  \: cm \\  \\
Area
 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 10 \times 8 \\  \\  = 5 \times 8 \\  \\  = 40 \:  {cm}^{2}  \\  \\
Hence option (C) is correct.
