Area of rhombus = base*height

. '. Area of rhombus = 12*7

= 84cm²

also,Area of rhombus

= 1/2*product of its diagonals

1/2*d1*d2 = 84

1/2*14*d2=84

7*d2=84

. '. d2=84/7

. '. d2=12cm

Therefore, the length of other diagonal be 12cm

The length of other diagonal is 12 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

As shown in the figure given below, we have

Side BC = 12 cm

Altitude DM = 7 cm

Diagonal 1DM = 14 cm

Diagonal 2 AC = ?

Now, Area of rhombus = 2\timesArea of triangle BCD

                                      = 2\times\frac{1}{2}\times                          Base\timesAltitude

                                      = 2\times\frac{1}{2}\times BC \times   DM

                                      = 2\times\frac{1}{2}\times12\times7

                                      = 12\times7

    Area of rhombus      =84 cm^2             (1)

We also know that,

Area of rhombus = \frac{1}{2}\times Diagonal 1\times Diagonal2

    84 cm^2 = \frac{1}{2}\times14 cm\times  Diagonal2

\frac{84\times2}{14} = Diagonal2

6\times2 =Diagonal2

Hence, Diagonal2 = 12 cm
