GIVEN :-

  • Base of rhombus = 17 cm
  • Height of rhombus = 8 cm

TO FIND :-

  • Area of rhombus.

SOLUTION :-

\setlength{ \unitlength}{20} \begin{picture}(3,5) \put(2,2){ \line(1,0){4}}\put(2,2){ \line(1,1){3}}\put(6,2){ \line(1,1){3}}   \put(5,5){ \line(1,0){4}}  \put(2,1.5 ){$ \tt D$ } \put(6, 1.5){$ \tt c $ } \put(5,5.2){$ \tt A $ } \put(9.3, 5){$ \tt B$ } \put(4, 1.5){$ \tt 17 \: cm $ }  \put(8,1){\framebox{$ \tt @prince5132 $}}\put(5.2,4.5){\line(0,1){0.5}}\put(5.2,3.5){\line(0,1){0.5}}\put(5.2,2.8){\line(0,1){0.3}}\put(5.2,2){\line(0,1){0.5}}\put(4.8,2){\line(0,1){0.35}}\put(4.8,2.35){\line(1,0){0.4}}\put(5.25,3.5){ $ \bf 8  \: cm $ }\end{picture}

▪︎Area of rhombus = 1/2 ( base × height )

= 1/2 ( 17 cm × 8 cm )

= 1/2 × 136 cm²

= 68 cm²

Hence Area of rhombus is 68 cm².

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :-

▪︎Area of rhombus, when the diagonals are given = 1/2 (d1 × d2).

Example:- If the diagonals of the Rhombus are 4 cm and 2 cm , Find Area of rhombus.

▪︎Area of rhombus = 1/2 (d1 × d2)

= 1/2 ( 4 cm × 2 cm )

= 1/2 × 8 cm

= 4 cm².

Hence the area of rhombus is 4 cm².
