Pythagoras to be used that is :

Perpendicular ^2 × base ^2 = hypotenuse^2

As given in question :

Perpendicular = 60

Hypotenuse = 61

Let base be = y

Perpendicular ^2 × base ^

2 = hypotenuse^2

60^2. ×. Y ^2 (say). = 61^2

3600 × y^2 = 3721

Y^2 = 3721-3600

y^2 = 121

Y = √121

Y= 11

Congratulations we found base that is 11cm .

Now ,

As we all know...

Area =ab/2

[Where , a is perpendicular = 61

And

b = base that is 11 cm ]

Area = 60×11/2 = 330
