area of the sector =

 \frac{ \alpha }{360} \pi {r}^{2} \: ( \alpha \: is \: the \: ange \: of \: the \: sector)

so,
=30/360 × 22/7 × 4^2
=1/12 × 22/7 × 16
=4/3 × 3.14
= 12.56/3
= 4.1867

ram071987: for the major sector use sector angle as 2π - alpha
ram071987: the formula will be (2π - alpha) πr^2
vaibhavkr4337: ok but is my method wrong??
ram071987: the first one is 360 for the pi and second is 22/7
vaibhavkr4337: yeah
ram071987: no ur methid is the same as i told
vaibhavkr4337: yeah yeah i understood
vaibhavkr4337: i confused because u r using π two times
ram071987: π is used for angle too in radians
vaibhavkr4337: ok but i think we cant use π two times in the same equation for different meanings, if we want we can just take π' for the second meaning
