Given :

  • Diameter of circle = 12 cm

And

radius =  \frac{d}{2}

Therefore radius = 6 cm

Let's first find the area of the full circle

Area of circle =

\pi {r}^{2}

area = 3.14 \times 6 \times 6

 = 113.04  \: {cm}^{2}

Angle of sector = 90°

\boxed {area \: of \: sector =  \frac{angle \: of \: sector}{360}  \times area \: of \: circle}

area =  \frac{1}{4}  \times 113.04

\boxed{area = 28.26 \:  {cm}^{2} }
