AREA OF A RECTANGLE IS LENGTH*BREADTH

FIRST OF ALL WE HAVE TO FIND OUT AREA OF THE BIG RECTANGLE

LENGTH OF OF BIG RECTANGLE = 40m

BREADTH OF BIG RECTANGLE = 25m

AREA = 40*25 = 1000m^2

NEXT WE HAVE TO FIND OUT AREA OF SMALL RECTANGLE.

LENGTH OF SMALL RECTANGLE = 36m

BREADTH OF SMALL RECTANGLE = 21m

AREA = 36*21
= 756m^2

SO, AREA OF THE SHADED PORTION WILL BE = AREA OF BIG RECTANGLE-AREA OF SMALL RECTANGLE

THEN, 1000m^2-756m^2
=244m^2

THEREFORE, AREA OF THE SHADED PORTION IS 244M^2

HOPE IT HELPS

THANKS
