According to angle sum property of a quadrilateral sum of all angles is 360 and in a square each angle is 90°

So, there are 4 quadrants of same radii which are equal to one circle of radius 21/2 cm

Area of Shaded = area of - area of

Region. square. circle

= Side^2 - πr^2

= 21^2 -22/7×21/2×21/2

= 441 - 346.5

= 94.5 cm^2
