Area of shaded region = ar.square + 4(ar.smi circle)
=  14² +4( πr²)/2
= 14² +  2πr²
= 14² + 2 ×22/7 × 14/2×14/2
= 14² + 308 
= 196 + 308
= 504 cm²

first we have the radius of semi circle = 14/2 => 7cm
and side of square is 14cm

so, total area would be 
area of square + 4 X area of semi circle
(14 X 14 ) + 4 X (1/2 X  \pi X  x^{2}   { where x is radius }
196 + 2 X (22/7) X 7 X 7 
196 + 2 X 22 X 7
196 + 308
504 cm square
