the way is we will find out the area of square and the 3 triangles inside the square.Then we will subtract the sum of the areas of triangles from the area of square which will give us the area of the shaded portion .

area of square = 20 × 20 = 400cm²

area of 3 triangles = 100cm²+ 100cm² + 50 cm²=250 cm²

and finally 400 - 250 = 150 cm²
