68cm²

Step by step Explanation :

Consider the rectangle ABCD,

Length(l) = 13cm

Breadth(b) = 7cm

Area of a rectangle = l×b

→Area = 13×7 =91cm²

Consider the triangle EAG ,

Base(b) = 7cm

Height(h) = 4cm

Area of a triangle = 1/2(bh)

→Area = 1/2(7×4) = 14cm²

Consider the triangle GBF ,

Base(b) = 6cm

Height(h) = 3cm

Area of a triangle = 1/2(bh)

→Area = 1/2(6×3) = 9cm²

Area of rectangle ABCD - Sum of area of two triangles = Area of shaded portion.

ie; 91cm² - (14cm²+9cm²) = Area of shaded portion.

91cm² - 23cm² = 68cm²

Therefore the area of shaded portion is 68cm².
